- Encourage fair & balanced market, regulatory and financing approaches.
- Identify investment & innovation to help reduce carbon impacts & climate profiles.
- Promote policy dialogue and change management in support of the transition.
Its Director, Professor Geoffrey Lipman has held senior positions in UNWTO, WTTC and IATA over the past three decades and has been a leading green tourism advocate since the Rio Earth Summit. Communications Director is Nicki Page, Executive Director Fusions Management Dubai A global network of public and private organisations as well as industry, academia and media is being assembled to support this initiative along with experts in climate change, development, new technology and investment.
The greenearth.travel Foundation is a not for profit organization based in Geneva Switzerland.
Its Goals are to advance, promote and support tourism and travel in the evolving Green Economy and encourage/profile a growing greenearth community of model destinations.
Its Funding Base is established through capital from its Founders: donations from Partners and fees from Community Members.
Its Founders, Ghassan Aidi and Geoffrey Lipman, serve as co - chairs of the Foundation Council, drawn from people and organizations concerned with Tourism, Travel and the Green Economy, sponsors and partners.
The Foundation will support "Live the Deal". It will also sponsor research into quadruple bottom line sustainability – climate, economic, environmental and social. It will source investment in clean technology in the sector and support technology transfer to developing states. It will encourage the increased use of ICT to help manage the sector's Green Economy transformation.
